Condor Gold PLC on Wednesday reported new drill results for its La India open pit gold project in Nicaragua that were better than expected.

The mining company said it is encouraged by results from three of the 12 holes, as two high-grade intercepts are in an area previously interpreted to have lower-grade mineralization.

Condor highlighted a 61-meter intercept grading 1.98 grams of gold per metric ton located between the two proposed starter pits.

Shares at 0718 GMT were up 1.2% at 43.50 pence.
